Small dark blue cells (Kulchitsky cells) represent a neuroendocrine neoplasm, such as a small cell carcinoma of the lung. On CT, lung cancer will often be seen as a distinct lung nodule, often with spiculations. No obvious signs of cancer can be seen on this patient’s CT scan.
