Physostigmine, a reversible anticholinesterase inhibitor, would potentiate the actions of acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors because it prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine. Its effects would therefore be the same as those of acetylcholine: miosis and ciliary muscle contraction.
