CCB are class IV antiarrhythmic drugs (eg, verapamil, diltiazem) that inhibit L-type calcium channels, slowing depolarization in the SA & SV nodes & decreasing calcium entry into cardiomyocytes. CCB’s slow the sinus rate, prolong the AV node conduction & depress myocardial contractility.
