Hepatic Enephalopathy triggers: GI bleeding, excessive protein intake, infections, sedatives, metabolic derangements (hypokalemia). Rx: Lactulose (increases conversion of ammonia to ammonium) and rifaximin (decreases intraluminal ammonia production).
