Hyperglycemia is associated with steroids, hydrochlorothiazide, and some antiretrovirals, which are not indicated for this patient’s condition. Lactic acidosis, seen with use of metformin, isoniazid, and some antiretrovirals, is not associated with phenoxybenzamine, nor is metabolic alkalosis. Cytochrome P-450 induction is associated with rifampin, phenytoin, and carbamazepine.
