Homocysteine methyltransferase is an enzyme involved in folate metabolism, in which it acts to convert homocysteine to methionine. Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) is the cofactor for this enzyme. A deficiency can result in megaloblastic anemia and peripheral neuropathy.
