A Patient recently received a bone marrow transplant, and over the course of several weeks developed a rash and diarrhea. This should raise suspicion for graft-versus-host disease GVHD. GVHD is an adverse effect of bone marrow transplantation, in which alloreactive donor T lymphocytes recognize the recipient as foreign and mount an immune response.
