History of unintentional weight loss, joint pain, and diarrhea, is presenting with signs and symptoms suggestive of Whipple disease, which is caused by infection with Tropheryma whipplei. Histologic findings are notable for these foamy macrophages crowding the lamina propria with periodic acid–Schiff-positive granules are seen.
