Beta blockers, such as atenolol, bisoprolol, esmolol and metoprolol, act as beta 1 selective antagonists and may relieve some of the symptoms caused by atropine overdose by decreasing adenylyl cyclase and cAMP, which would decrease heart rate and contractility.
