The common fibular (peroneal) nerve is derived from L4-S2 and supplies sensation to the lateral portions of the leg and foot. The common fibular nerve eventually splits into the superficial fibular nerve and deep fibular nerve, providing motor innervation to the lateral and anterior leg compartments, respectively.
