Intraparenchymal hemorrhages are a type of hemorrhagic stroke. Hemorrhagic strokes occur when a brain aneurysm bursts, or a weakened blood vessel leaks. The blood spills into or around the brain and creates swelling and pressure, damaging cells and tissues in the brain.
