Tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) overdose. TCAs such as amitriptyline and imipramine act by inhibiting neuronal reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin in the central nervous system. This increases the synaptic concentration of these neurotransmitters and potentiates their actions.
